Custom designed cardboard display stand for Bunnings

Cardboard display stand for Bunnings retail stores

Kiwi Care Rake point of sale cardboard display stand

Genesis Retail Displays is a point of sale display design agency in Sydney that can create, manufacture and distribute POP displays for products that are to be sold in hardware stores like Bunnings, Mitre 10 or retail similar retail outlers in Australia.

For this point of sale design project Kiwi Care approached us to try and solve the problems they were facing with displaying their Atlas Rakes. They wanted a display designed that could effectively showcase the Atlas Rakes in Bunnings stores that would present & maintain an organised and appealing look wherever it was placed in the retail store.

It was a fun challenge, and we’re proud of the solution that we designed for their product. They approached Genesis Retail Displays due to our reputation for solving complex product point of sale problems. Their initial displays (created by another POS supplier) failed to keep the rakes organised and were also falling apart.

Therefore our task was to create a display that not only showcased the rakes but also held up to the rigorous environment of Bunnings retail stores.

Custom designed point of sale displays for Bunnings

In the photos above the left hand image is the original display which let the rakes tilt at all different angles. As you can see in the second photo our display keeps them upright at all times and spaced evenly to minimise the floor area required.

Our goal was to design a display that was sturdy, easy to assemble, and could keep the rakes in an organised manner, making it easy for customers to pick up and replace the rakes without creating a mess. The display also needed to be economical, as it would be placed in Bunnings stores, where branding and high-cost materials are often restricted due to their environment.

How we designed this point of sale display

We took our practical and efficient approach to solving this point of sale display problem.

1.Concept Development:

We began by understanding the specific needs of Kiwi Care and the constraints of the Bunnings retail environment. Given the high-traffic nature of these stores, the display had to be durable and easy to maintain.

2.Design and Prototyping:

Our team developed several designs, eventually deciding on a twin cushion board, double the thickness of regular cardboard, to provide the necessary durability. The design featured a clever window at the bottom with openings for the rake handles, ensuring that each rake could be easily placed back into position.

3. Production:

After the design was approved, we quickly moved to production, ensuring that the displays could be assembled in under 10 minutes—an essential requirement for Bunnings.

4.Logistics and Distribution:

Once produced, the displays were sent to a central distribution centre in Melbourne, from where they were distributed to various Bunnings stores across Australia

The result?

  • Durability.
  • Customer Satisfaction.
  • Brand Representation.

The Atlas Rakes displays were a success, providing a sturdy, organised, and visually appealing solution that met all of Kiwi Care’s needs.

Initial responses have been positive. The displays are expected to last the full 8-12 weeks of the promotion, standing up to the challenges of the Bunnings retail environment. This case study demonstrates how a well-thought-out display can significantly impact product presentation and customer experience.

That is why leading brands choose Genesis Retail Displays to solve their point of sale challenges.
