Point of sale for Maxi-Cosi car seats for Baby Bunting stores

Custom designed point of sale display for car seats

Point of sale display concept design for car safety seat

Genesis Retail Displays is a point of sale display design agency in Sydney that helped Maxi-Cosi to enhance their in-store displays and better communicate the market-leading safety and ease-of-use features their products offer.

One of the key features of the existing in-store display for car seats is a spinner mechanism, which is the same standard design used by all brands in Baby Bunting stores. So the design challenge our point of sale team had to overcome was what could we create that fit into the retailer’s in store point of sale requirements, but give the brand an advantage?

The point of sale display requirements

At Genesis, we don’t just churn out generic POS displays. Every project is an opportunity to push creative boundaries and develop a solution that delivers maximum impact. With Maxi-Cosi, we went through six different point of sale design ideas – each offering a unique approach to enhancing brand presence and shopper engagement.

We even came up with an idea that featured the rear of a vehicle to try and put the product into some form of ‘relative perspective’ in a retail store.

How we designed this point of sale display

Designing a Slip-On Solution
After carefully evaluating the six design concepts, qe developed a custom “slip-on” brand dress-up that fits seamlessly over the existing spinner mechanism. This solution added a premium look and feel and immediately differentiated Maxi-Cosi from competing brands.

Magnetic Prints for Flexibility
By incorporating magnetic prints, we gave Maxi-Cosi the ability to easily update branding and messaging over time. This feature keeps the displays fresh and adaptable to new campaigns and products.

Reinforced for Durability
To ensure the display could withstand heavy daily interaction, we built it using strong sheet metal with a durable powder-coated finish. We also added a protective rubber top surface, providing an extra layer of resilience while maintaining a sleek, professional look.

With the updated displays in place, Maxi-Cosi experienced a sharp increase in shopper engagement. Foot traffic around their displays increased, and there is a noticeable surge in sales as customers gravitated toward the standout design.

The improved visibility directly contributed to rising sales figures, proving that thoughtful design can drive business outcomes.
