Unique point of sale display for CPAP masks
Point of sale display for ResMed CPAP masks
Genesis Retail Displays is a point of sale display design agency in Sydney that can create unique point of sale displays to suit different types of products, even unusual ones like CPAP Masks.
CPAP masks are typically displayed on 3D moulded mannequin heads, but these can distract from the product and are expensive to transport as they are large.
The client’s point of sale design brief was to create displays that could accommodate 5 x different mask shapes and their accessories but without all the additional complexity by using human style heads in the design.
The requirements
The brief had very specific design requirements which included;
- Using 2D components that minimise visual distraction.
- Flatpack designs to cut shipping costs.
- Clear materials to make the heads almost ‘disappear’, focusing all attention on the product itself.
How we designed this point of sale display
We created 3D design renderings to explore possibilities and visualise the best solution for this product. Prototyping and testing ensured that they were both practical and effective. Turning this into the final display solution required a bit of work.
You can see some of the behind the scenes photos here, its a bit messy but this is what we do, create bespoke point of sale design solutions starting with an idea or problem to be solved.
To achieve the premium chrome-look finish for the logo, we worked through the limitations of digital printing and opted for a manual cut and weed process. It was incredibly labour-intensive, but the eye-catching result was elegant and so worth the effort to give the display a premium feel.
The feedback was clear: less is more. ResMed’s new displays turned heads (even if you could hardly see them). The invisible heads showcased the masks beautifully, letting them take centre stage without any distractions.
Here’s what ResMed had to say:
“We showcased the urgent rush production at our five capital city product launch events, with each venue featuring five displays. They presented beautifully, and we even gave them out as
lucky door prizes to thrilled guests!”
